Katie's Dress

I first contacted Lisa as I needed alterations on my ceremony dress and had grand ideas to add off the shoulder sleeves and lace to my veil. She was able to include these without even breaking a sweat and I had so many comments about how unique and classic it made the dress look. As my sister in law said – you look like an Italian movie star!

I knew I wanted a second dress and spent hours trawling the internet for the perfect one. Despite what felt like an endless search, I couldn’t find the one but had a clear idea in my head of what I wanted. I described my vision to Lisa and she was able to draw up exactly what was spinning around my head.

Our venue was stunning all by itself so we wanted to enhance its natural beauty with lots of natural, Mediterranean style flowers and foliage.

 

I wanted my bridesmaids all in white and then hints of blue, green and pink in the rest of the wedding. I also had to include my love of champagne with our centre pieces being large copper champagne bowls and table names being magnum champagne bottles with watercolour designs of local beaches added as the labels.
We had so many incredible suppliers. Starting with our brilliant photographer, Anneli Marinovich and videographer, Alex Haynes. They captured our day and all the elements perfectly.
The whole process of having a dress made was so special and I loved being able to see my dress come to life. From picking the fabrics to each little tweak, there is nothing quite like having a bespoke dress commissioned just for you. The final fitting was everything I had hoped for and my perfect dress was there!

I was so glad I had a second dress with such a different vibe from my first but that still felt equally as special. I was able to dance the night away and sparkle as we had our evening party under the stars.
We both love music and so it played a huge part in our wedding with love music from the ceremony all the way through to the party. Our musicians elevated the day from special to spectacular with Thom Morley playing a beautiful acoustic set for the ceremony and reception and Agent Funk taking over for the evening. 

Instead of a Photo Booth, we had a hashtag printer where guests could take their own pictures of the beautiful backdrop and post to Instagram with our hashtag. Their photos would then print automatically as a keepsake Polaroid to take away.

It also wouldn’t be a beach wedding without a dip in the sea- in full wedding dress. It’s a good job I had a second dress for the evening.
