Ayron's Dress

We got married on early December 2021, this was our second date after postponing from November 2020, at Coltsfoot Country Retreat which is a beautiful barn nestled in the countryside of Knebworth, Hertfordshire.

We wanted the vibe to be relaxed and modern… yet timeless.

Myself and my husband (!) are both very easy going and we don’t like being the centre of attention so wanted the day to feel relaxed and fun.

We used Pinterest for a lot of inspiration to visualise the day and our suppliers were amazing with giving advice and allowing the day to feel authentic to us as a couple. We had dark green as our colour theme with gold accents which meant lots and lots of foliage!

I fell in love with Loeffler Randall and their pleated shoes so I had to order some to wear on my wedding day. I got them in Platinum which I thought was so versatile and I know I’ll be wearing to future events. I wore them for over 12 hours and danced in them all night!

Emma Kim did my hair & Michelle Nash did my make up and they were both amazing ladies to have on the morning of the wedding. They not only made me feel beautiful, but their calm and friendly presence made the morning so much fun… loved every second & didn’t want them to go!

I got my beautiful veil from Eden B – I knew I wanted something simple to not take anything from the beautiful dress & it was perfect. The team were so friendly and accommodating to make sure I had it in plenty of time, and also helping me select the right colour and length.

Becky Harley was our wonderful photographer – it was like having our friend there on the day with us.

Can’t compliment Becky enough – she made us feel at ease with having our photos taken and it all felt so effortless. We have had so many compliments about Becky from our guests & she was so accommodating with photo requests… and also with my massive family which took up about 50% of one of the group shots!

Our DJ Dan from JN sounds made the night unforgettable. We had a couple of meetings with him beforehand so he could get to know us and our music taste, but he did an amazing job in keeping the dance floor full all night. It was the best night ever!

There are a couple of things that made our wedding special- one being our venue, Coltsfoot. The team at Coltsfoot are amazing, they are so personable & it’s not about numbers for them, it’s about the couple and the day.

Everything they do to the venue is done with such passion and attention to detail.

We first viewed Coltsfoot in Autumn 2019 and it’s changed so much since them, they have added amazing Shepherds Huts for guests to stay in and improved the main barn.

We were lucky that both our families could stay at the venue the night before so we could start the celebrations early & get settled – this really helped calm any nerves and get us excited.

The second thing that made my day special was my dress!

It was really important to me to wear something I felt comfortable in & something I felt represented me and my style.

My Granny was a dressmaker who made my Mum & Auntie’s wedding dresses & having my dress made by Lisa brought back so many memories of my Granny constantly making clothes for me and my cousins and having pins in her mouth.

I felt so beautiful in my dress and cannot thank Lisa enough for making my wedding dress dreams come true!
